SSL Certificate issued but not seeing it installed

Hello

I bought an SSL cert for my website. The certificate is showing as approved and issued... however.

1. I don't see it associated with my domain name - my website its not showing as secure.

2. I am still seeing the following alert within cPanel "Your SSL activation is in progress and will take an estimated time of 20 minutes. We'll alert you once the activation is complete."

NB, its been showing this alert for 3 days now and yup, I've assigned the certificate to my domain name.

Any help or ideas appreciated.

Many thanks

Hey @KolnBrit,

Welcome to the Community! Smiley Happy

Couple of items I would suggest. First, if the SSL was issued for a cPanel shared hosting plan it should already be installed. One way to verify is to test your domain using https:// in your browser or by using a SSL checker tool like the one from SSL Shopper. It should show results of a completed certificate chain indicating that it was issued by GoDaddy.

Keep in mind that when the SSL is installed, it doesn't automatically start directing your domain to https://. You'll still need to configure your site to use this on the pages you want to be secured. If you're just looking to redirect all of your pages, try the suggested redirect scripting we offer an example of here.

Once you've secured your pages, if the cPanel dashboard is still indicating a pending activation of your SSL then you may want to reach out to our live support so our hosting team can help review and resolve that status on your account. Hope this helps. Let us know if you manage to get this worked out.

All looks good through the SSL checker, thanks. Ref the "redirect scripting".  What would you suggest I name the .htaccess file I'm creating? Also. Does the following code need to include my domain name/URL? Many thanks.

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301]

".htaccess" IS the file name required.

no the code is fine as it is.

I'm also having this issue. Followed the instructions everyone posted but my site is still not registering as secure. Any thoughts?

I am havimg the same problem for LeTerre?

Does this CSR clearance require my sending it to an admin. or do I just upload to cPanel for the SSL activation based on it being required for online contact sheet forms +/emailsScreenshot (4).png
