If I had to guess you might have been connecting with an IP address or GoDaddy host name vs your domain name - and/or the user/password changed with the migration to the new platform

Close. I used to connect with a host name, now it wants the ip address as the hostname. That could be a hassle in the future. It was your comment plus what the guy on 24/7 chat said that made me play with those variables. Thanks.
