Here's the silly part. I can buy hosting, but the hosting comes with a free domain. I already bought my domain though.

Is there any way to buy hosting and get a discount for the domain I already purchased? Or am I just out the money because I did my purchasing in the wrong order?

You are not able to get a discount / credit on your existing domain - You could purchase a new domain - keep in mind it is only free for the first year - also it is restricted to certain types of domains
